Patience Can Equal Productivity
People can be very productive. They can also be pretty terrible at being productive. The staff that can find consistency in their productivity typically results in a pretty successful business. Obviously, people have all types of suggestions on how to improve staff productivity, individual productivity, and a lot of it is just hitting on the same stuff. There is one variable, however, that is found in a lot of productive people: Patience. If you think about it, it’s not that foreign of a concept. The people that get worked up and angry take a lot of time to come back down from that state, but the people that don’t seem to get too high or low tend to be the most consistent performers in your workplace. Furthermore, people that lose composure tend to make impulsive decisions and anyone that has worked under a powder keg of a manager knows how that works out. Here are a few things that patient people do better:They Have Superior Time ManagementSince they aren’t ranting and raving all the time, and try to stay on an even keel, patient people are just better at using their time productively than emotional people. Not only do they have tighter schedules, but they also meet deadlines better and don’t make as many errors as people who aren’t as patient. They Keep Reduced Stress LevelsThat’s not to say that patient people don’t get stressed out; of course they do. Work is stressful. Those that can stay more patient and grounded, won’t feel overwhelmed as much and that helps reduce burnout. Work-related burnout is very real and can cause problems for individuals and businesses, alike. They are More CreativeCreative isn’t just coming up with ideas, it’s coming up with ideas that can be acted on. In this way, patient people can be more effective than people that lack patience. People who work in a frenzy always seem to feel rushed, and while that pressure can result in some pretty great ideas, it can also be tiresome and can cause less-patient people to crack under the stresses you face. They are Just More ProductiveThe more efficient an organization’s employees are, the better a business operates. This has been proven; and is why so many businesses look to new technology to build more efficient processes. Patient people are more consistent performers, and while they may not operate with all the pomp and circumstance of their firefly office brethren, they will usually outperform them every time. Now we ask you to be patient as we will have a follow-up article next week on how to improve your patience while so much seems to be happening around you.
